San Diego Horseback Riding
San Diego Horseback Riding (Trails and Points of Interest)

Your horse is waiting for you!

Come experience one of the last
few open-nature horseback
riding facilities in San Diego
county--the Kenner Ranch.  Our
200+ acres of trails takes you
past ponds, oak and pine forests,
open meadows, bucolic pastures,
and borders national parks and
some of the best horseback
trails on the west coast.

Ride wonderfully engaged horses
on picturesque trails that weave
around and within ranch borders,
extend comfortably into more
rugged national parks trails, and,
when your sense of discovery
permits it, summits one of the
higher mountains in the local
area to end at lakeCuyumaca--a
4-6 hour trail ride.  These rides all
begin on the Kenner Ranch.

Depending on your ride choice, you will be offered a chance to enjoy a locally prepared meal from one of several great restaurants in Julian.  There are several locations within each trail option to have a picnic with your riding partner(s) that offer a truly natural and remote experience.

To learn more about the ranch, its trails, its wildlife and geographic features, and its access to wonderful trails that each cross the local San Diego Mountains, click here.  Dr. (Kathleen) Kenner and the entire Kenner family is deeply engaged in the wildlife living on and around the Ranch.  Encourage us, and we will share our experiences and observations of our natural neighbors.

"Hi Kathleen, Thanks again for a wonderful day of riding back in March!  After leaving the ranch, Heidi and I climbed a small mountain and got engaged at the top!  We had such a great day and really enjoyed getting to know you.  And thanks for letting us hang out with the horses afterwards.  We had a blast.  My vintage camera never started to work, unfortunately, but we were glad to have the little point and shoot.  It worked out great.  Please feel free to use these on your web-site or for promotion or whatever. Take care and hope to see you again sometime!"
Best,  Michael and Heidi

"I just wanted to let you guy's know that the trail ride we took on Fathers Day weekend was the best ride we have ever experienced. The ride that Jake gave me and BJ gave my wife we will never forget. It's amazing to know that a horse of Jake's size could be so smooth. The scenery was breath taking and the guided tour was very informative. Kathleen was our guide and I must say she knows her stuff. This was the first horse back riding trip that we have been on that you didn't smell like sweaty horse after an hour and a half ride in 80+ deg. heat. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a great Fathers Day that I will never forget."

Sincerely, Gene & Donna
